August 15 – Seasons of Planting and Harvest

Gregg’s Reflection:
I used to get frustrated when my efforts didn’t produce immediate results. Whether in business, ministry, or family, I wanted to see the fruit right away. But Paul’s words remind me that growth is not my job. My job is faithfulness—planting seeds of kindness, encouragement, truth, or prayer, and trusting that God is at work in unseen ways.
The Spirit has seasons for everything. Sometimes I’m called to plant, other times to water what someone else has already sown. Rarely am I the one who gets to see the harvest. I’m kind of like Johnny Appleseed, who planted seeds but moved on before he could eat an apple.And that’s okay. What matters is trusting that the Spirit is moving, even when I cannot see the outcome.
This takes away the pressure to force results. It allows me to be present in the moment and faithful to the task before me. The fruit belongs to God. My part is to show up, sow generously, and trust His timing.
