Gregg’s Reflection
When I look at Scripture, I’m struck by how often the Gospel moved forward through persons of peace. The Samaritan woman at the well was an outcast, yet her encounter with Jesus opened her whole village to believe. Cornelius, a Roman centurion, welcomed Peter into his home and gathered his household to hear the Gospel. Lydia, a merchant in Philippi, opened her heart to Paul’s message and her home to the growing church.
These stories remind me that the Spirit has already been at work long before I arrive. My task is not to push or persuade, but to notice when someone is open. A person of peace makes space not just for me, but for the message of Christ that I carry.
It’s freeing to know that this is God’s work. I don’t have to pry doors open or force opportunities. My call is to stay attuned to the Spirit and respond when I see God’s hand preparing someone’s heart. When I meet a person of peace, the Gospel ripples outward far beyond what I could do on my own.
