August 26 – God’s Power for Mission

Gregg’s Reflection
When I read the book of Acts, I’m struck by how “uneducated and ordinary” the disciples were. There was nothing about them that suggested they could turn the world upside down. But through prayer, community, and the power of the Spirit, they became bold witnesses of Jesus Christ. What they lacked in training, God supplied in courage and clarity.
This gives me hope. I don’t have to be the smartest, strongest, or most gifted for God to work through me. The Spirit delights in using the humble and ordinary to accomplish extraordinary things. When I shift my focus from my own inadequacy to God’s sufficiency, I find new confidence.
God’s power for mission is not about striving or proving but about surrender. My role is to show up, pray, and be faithful. The Spirit provides the words, the courage, and the fruit. Mission is God’s work, and I am invited to participate.
