August 5 – Eternal Joy

Gregg’s Reflection
As I grow older, I find myself thinking more often about eternity—not as some far-off, abstract hope, but as a reality that has already begun in God’s presence here and now. The peace and joy we taste in prayer, community, and love are but glimpses of the fullness to come.
Jesus spoke often of the Kingdom of God being at hand, not just ahead. Eternal joy is the fruit of God’s presence woven into the fabric of our lives even now. When I have moments of stillness, when I see joy radiating from the faces of my grandchildren, when I hear the laughter of friends at table, I know these are foretastes of eternal joy.
Our calling is not to escape this world but to discover joy already hidden within it, and to let that joy shape the way we live, love, and serve. Eternity is not only our destination; it is the music playing beneath our steps even now.
