July 6 – The Eyes of Love

I’ve noticed that when I look at people through my own fears or biases, my vision narrows. I start to see only the things that annoy me or confirm my assumptions. But when I take a breath, pray, and ask God to let me see with the eyes of love, something shifts—suddenly the person in front of me is more than their flaws or mistakes; they are a child of God.
Jesus modeled this perfectly. He saw the tax collector as more than his greed, the sinner as more than her past, the outcast as more than society’s rejection. His eyes cut through the labels and went straight to the heart, and I want to live with that same clarity. Seeing with the eyes of love doesn’t mean ignoring sin or pretending pain isn’t there—it means holding truth and grace together in the same gaze.
When I manage to see someone this way, I sense that God is also looking at me with the same eyes—knowing everything about me, yet loving me completely. That’s when love becomes contagious. The more I receive it, the more I can pass it on without even trying.
