March 2 – Living What We Believe
A man is not defined by his words but by his works; whoever truly believes will manifest faith in deeds of mercy. Abba Poemen
Gregg’s Reflection
Scripture reminds us that the Christian faith is not only something we believe, but something we practice. Our beliefs are meant to be embodied in our actions. The world has every right to expect that if the way of Christ is true, it should be visible in the lives of His followers.
This is not about perfection but about authenticity. Even in our failures, when we respond with humility and repentance, we point to the grace of God. People notice when our faith shapes our daily choices, relationships, and priorities.

Living what we believe is one of the strongest witnesses we have. It speaks louder than words and carries more weight than arguments. It is how discipleship becomes visible to the watching world.
Scripture
They profess to know God but deny Him by their actions.
Titus 1:16
Ancient Quotes
A man is not defined by his words but by his works; whoever truly believes will manifest faith in deeds of mercy.
Abba Poemen, Sayings of the Desert Fathers, Poemen 184
Modern Quotes
The world is quite right in assuming that if the way of Christ is true and life-giving, it ought to be able to look at our lives and see that way personified in what we do and say.
William Willimon, RENOVARE Bible Introduction to Titus
If the faith is not a living reality in the home, if the parents are not truly disciples of Jesus and living out the belief that he has the words of eternal life, then there is little possibility that the faith will be a living reality in the homes of their children.
Basil Pennington, Lectio Divina, p. 99
