Gregg’s Reflection

The first half of my life was filled with striving—working long hours, pushing for success, and trying to prove my worth. I poured enormous energy into chasing financial security, thinking it would silence the voice of “not good enough.” In that busyness, I rarely slowed down enough to hear the still, small voice of God.

As I began to seek God more intentionally and discern my calling, something shifted. Gradually, I leaned into the truth that I am the Beloved—not because I’m good, but because God is good. The relentless energy I once spent defending my ego was freed for loving action and purposeful work. When I am aligned with God’s Spirit, my efforts feel less like striving and more like a steady, joyful flow.

Living in that flow is not about doing more—it’s about abiding in the One who is the source of life. From that place, our energy is renewed, and our work is infused with grace.

Scripture

I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.

John 10:10

Ancient Quotes

The person who abides in love dwells in God, and God in them.

St. John of the Cross, The Spiritual Canticle, Stanza 27

Modern Quotes

To be loved so profoundly and so securely, beyond all the circumstances of one’s conditions and qualities, satisfies the deepest longings of the human heart and releases the energy that had been committed to the tasks of defending and augmenting oneself.

Beatrice Bruteau, The Grand Option, p. 8

Faith does not need to push the river because faith is able to trust that there is a river, the river is flowing, and we are in it.
